    Helicopter and Snowcat Skiing evolved in the 1960's. It is an extension of alpine ski-touring, using a helicopter or snowcat instead of climbing skins and muscle power as the mode of uphill transportation. Since its inception, Helicopter and Snowcat Skiing has gained world-wide acceptance as the most exciting and challenging form of recreational skiing. It joins mining, logging and transportation as one of the few industries to operate in remote mountain regions in winter months. In 1978, the operators formed the BCHSSOA to serve as their collective body to define standards and operating guidelines.

  1. Gleneagles Golf Course

    The Gleneagles Golf Course is open from dawn to dusk all year round, unless there is snow on the ground! Course time is on a first come, first serve basis and it is advisable to call in advance for an estimate of waiting time. The course tends to be somewhat slow because there are often a lot of people playing at once.The course has nine challenging holes which, when played twice around, measure 5,209 yards. The golf shop has most of what you want. You can rent golf clubs, pull carts and power carts.

  2. Northlands Golf Course

    Northlands inhabits the rugged landscape of Mt. Seymour. The course is difficult, with narrow fairways, small greens, tremendous woodlands, several blind shots, water on several holes and some difficult approach shots. Using the land they had, the course is designed for those with low handicaps or those who are very patient. The front nine is the battle and the back nine is the reward.

    West Vancouver Yacht Club is known for its great hospitality, convenient location, and excellent facilities. The yacht club has over 700 members and owns a number of outstations along the BC Coast. A variety of activities are available to members including yacht racing, learn to sail programs, coastal cruising, and year-round social events.

  2. Eagle Harbour Yacht Club

    The Club was formed in June 1969 as a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Act. Total active membership is approximately 125 with 43 members in other categories. EHYC will never be a big club because we are limited to the present number of approximately 95 mooring positions and by a desire to remain small and friendly.   5. Deep Cove Yacht Club

    Officially, the Deep Cove Yacht Club began its existence on July 31, l936 as the Deep Cove Sport Association and later became the Deep Cove Yacht & Sports Club, known fondly to most as the Deep Cove Yacht Club. Unofficially, the club's formation was in reality the natural outcome of many of the Cove's residents love for the water, water sports and boating. The municipality of North Vancouver had kindly allowed the club to rent a piece of land on the foreshore of Panorama Park. Club Member cleared the land and erected a modest building and for the next forty nine years maintained and improved, all by volunteer labour, the clubhouse, grounds and floating wharves.

    Hollyburn Sailing Club has been an integral part of the West Vancouver waterfront for over thirty years, and is conveniently located next to Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. Over the years, the Club has undergone many changes. New clubhouses, a permanent ramp, its own fleet of training vessels, and an increased property for boat storage to a name just a few. Though the Club has experienced these and other changes over the course of its life, the main objective of training North Shore children seamanship on which the Club was founded remains today.
