The area above West Vancouver on Cypress Mountain is very diverse and with an interesting history. One area that is currently being reviewed again is the Old Growth Forest

The Old Growth Park is a completely forested area with a mosaic of forest types of varying age, including some trees that are between 650 and 900 years old. Its unique biological features, rich interpretive capacity and close proximity to a large urban setting makes this protected area a potential destination, which could have both positive and negative impacts on its ecosystems. Currently no formal public access exists.
