The 2004 OCP identified the Ambleside Town Centre as an area of review --  to address some of the challenges Ambleside is facing and to reinforce and enhance it as the heart of the community.
A proposed strategy was presented to Council on February 21, 2005. The presentation focused on analysis information conducted by staff and consultants and proposed a preliminary strategy for the area. The proposed strategy addresses land use, built form and streetscape character among other elements of the review.

Overall process
Following comment on the proposed strategy from the public, staff will report back to Council with the findings and direction will be given regarding implementation.

Next steps

• A discussion paper is being finalized and will be made available shortly
• Public meetings with local residents, owners and tenants, and the broader public to discuss the strategy will take place in April
